Do You Track Your Stats?

Traffic Stats

Traffic Stats

I’ll admit I never really tracked any of my stats until just about a year ago. Up until that point the only stats I ever tracked where my leads I got from Google Adwords. The reason for this was I never really knew how to setup the tracking or where to even get some good tracking software or a tool to help me.

I knew I had to find something though, because I had no clue if my marketing dollars where being put to good use or not, and we all know wasting money isn’t a good thing.

So I started working with a few programs to help me track my stats and conversions, and I’ll tell you it’s made a world of a difference in my business. Some places that I use to think worked out great actually worked out poorly. I would have never known this though if I wasn’t tracking my stats from start to finish.

Here are a few places I highly recommend you try and use to track your stats.

Google Analtyics – This is a free program created by Google, and it will help you track where all of your website traffic is coming from. It will even break it down to the time of day, and location. This is a great tool to see how much traffic your website is receiving, and where the majority of your traffic is coming from. One really cool feature I like about Google Analytics is they also tell you what keywords people have searched to find your website. This is a must have, and its completely free.

Hits Connect – It won’t tell you how much traffic your website gets on a daily basis, but what it will do is tell you what marketing is converting into sales for you. This is huge, because you want to spend money on marketing that you know is working. Hits Connect will help you tracks where your sales come from. They have a free option that allows you to track up to 10 campaigns, or they have a paid option for $19.95/m that allows you to track unlimited amount of campaigns. I highly recommend the paid option as it will pay for its self time after time as tracking your sales is a must.

Prosper202 – This is a new tracking software program that I found about a month ago. If you are an affiliate marketer and use Google Adwords a lot this is a must have for you then. It’s free, and you host the tracking software on your own website. This does take work to install, and you will need to know a little bit about computers and your websites back office to set it up. This will help you track down what keywords make you a sale.

Ok so there you go. If your not tracking yet then you have some work to do. I can almost guarantee once you do start tracking everything you’ll be shocked at what you find and see in your data.

Using Online Forums To Market

Saturday, March 14th, 2009

Are you an active member of any forums? If not you should be. Forums are a great way not only to market online, but also a great place to make new friends, and learn new things. Each time I log onto a forum I always learn something new, and while I’m learning and posting I’m also marketing at the same time.

This is a simple type of marketing there really isn’t anything to do. All you have to do is be active on a few forums, and leave links back to your website in your signature. So each time you post on the forum people will see your signature with your links. A lot of people don’t think this works, but you would be surprised just how well it actually works.

Here are a few forums that I like that are related to marketing, and making money online

http://forums.digitalpoint.com/

http://www.warriorforum.com/

http://www.moneymakergroup.com/forums.html

http://www.whydowork.com/forums/

All of the above forums are very active, and talk about things like online marketing, affiliate marketing, making money, SEO. Plus each of these places have a huge membership basis. Usually if I have a question I can either find the answer at one of these places or someone will respond to my question in a matter of minutes.

Why You Should Buy Solo Ads

Monday, March 9th, 2009

When I first started working online some 4+ years ago I started out using mainly free traffic methods. My #1 way of marketing online at the time was simply by writing and submitting articles. However I knew at some point and time that just wasn’t going to cut it, and that’s exactly what had happened.

I had to expand my marketing and look for other ways to get my business and image in front of more eyes. I’ve heard a few people mention “Solo Ads” to me before, however since I was just starting out I was afraid to dump any type of money into my marketing.

This fear though was holding me back, and I knew I had to start spending money if I really wanted to take my business to the next level. So I gave in and purchased my first ever Solo Ad. For those of you who don’t know what a Solo Ad is it’s simply a stand along email message that is sent to X amount of peoples contact email addresses.

So my Solo Ad was sent out, and within about 30 – 45 minutes of sending the solo ad I notice a huge jump in the amount of leads my website was getting. Here it turns out the solo ad pulled in over 30 leads for my business. After about week of receiving emails from me (from my auto responder) 3 of the 30 leads upgraded, and became a paying member of my business I was in at the time.

This may not sound like a good conversion rate, but the solo ad only cost $15, and since I had 3 people upgrade to paying members I made over $500 in my business I was in so the ROI (return on investment) was great.

So if you are searching for other ways to market online I recommend trying solo ads. They are an extremely effective way of advertising, and I’ve been using this method of advertising for over 3 years.

If you’re unsure of where to buy solo ads from I’ll help you out.

Below is a list of places I personally use to buy solo ads from.
